Accommodation

Kardia provides accommodation to those who feel they would greatly benefit from living in a shared house with others experiencing similar mental health difficulties. This can often be a great help to those who are feeling alone in coping with their mental health. Living in shared accommodation can also alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation. Our accommodation is maintained by management who attend the property regularly to chat with tenants, have a cup of tea and generally monitor their wellbeing.

Each of our homes is equipped with pay phone, wifi and sky TV. extra Sky packages can be taken out upon request for an additional contribution. All garden, living room, kitchen and bedroom furniture are provided. We expect all furniture and furnishings to remain at the property when/if residents move on. Residents are expected to purchase their own food and bathroom products, all other bills are covered by a weekly contribution which can be paid weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Please enquire for an up-to-date breakdown and contribution amount.

All tenants are placed on a four week trial period when moving to a property. When the four weeks is up the tenant and management will have a meeting to discuss whether the accommodation is right for them and if they are happy with their new home.

Weekly health and safety inspections will take place at the property, along with a fire alarm test. Tenants will be expected to keep their personal space safe and clean for health and safety purposes, staff can assist with this if needed during support sessions.
